LANDSCAPE & EXTERIOR DESIGN
FROM KAPITI COAST TO PALMERSTON NORTH

Your new home is planned, the interior fittings are chosen and the builders are ready to start

Now is the perfect time to plan how your outdoor spaces will achieve the ultimate indoor/outdoor flow, complement the interior spaces and reflect your personality and lifestyle.

Building a new home, we offered Jane a very bare & challenging rocky landscape to work with. She understood our vision for the garden and we were delighted with the landscape design plan she produced. It was approved unchanged by our Land Developer! Complementing our new home, she made our dream garden a reality!

WHAT WE DO

With so many decisions to make when planning your new home it is challenging to find time to think about the outdoor spaces. While driveways, paths and patios are often a requirement for Building Consent plans they tend to be generic rather than tailored to individual homeowners so it is important to take time to consider whether these work for you. Even if you aren’t ready to think about the whole garden just yet I can ensure these key elements fit with your lifestyle.

Jane was able to interpret our vague ideas and wishes and transform them into a creative design that suits all the family.  Definitely money well spent.

As a professional landscape designer with many years’ experience, I specialise in creating layout plans for outdoor living that contain all the elements that reflect who you are and what you love; all while working within the constraints posed by the site size, contours and conditions.

HOW WE DO IT

HowDoL

We start by finding out more about you and how your family want to use the outdoor spaces around your new home.

A detailed questionnaire is sent, helping you to consider all the different uses your family may have and your personal tastes so the indoor/outdoor flow is seamless in style.

A set of house and site plans submitted for consent is also required at this stage. It will form the base plan for the outdoor spaces and clarify any issues that need to be taken into consideration.

With the ideas starting to form, we meet at the your new home site to enable me to further understand your requirements, assess the site and provide you with plenty of opportunity to ask any questions.

For those who live further afield I will undertake the site visit alone and follow up with a Zoom meeting.

From there a scaled layout plan for all the outdoor areas is designed. This includes the footprint of the home and all exterior elements laid out in a cohesive design that will enable you to complete the garden at a pace that suits you.

The plans are personally presented to allow a full explanation of the design and provide the opportunity to discuss any ideas that may form as a result of the design.

Once approved the scaled Layout Plan is provided in paper format for yourselves along with a .pdf that can be shared with the construction team.

Note – the layout plan may include driveway, parking, patios, decks and paths, screens/hedges, productive gardens, trees, shed, bins/compost bins/washing line and features such as spa, fire pit, pizza oven, water feature.

Garden areas are shown as a mass - individual plant ideas are not included.
